Quartier's Designs is a landscape design studio based in Castle Rock, founded in 2024 by Jean-Michel Quartier — known locally as 'That French Guy.' Jean-Michel grew up amid the landscapes of the Loire Valley near Angers, France, a region known for its landscaping schools, where he earned a degree in landscape design and construction. He moved to Colorado in 2015 with his wife Terese, a Summit County native, before launching the firm.
The studio is a landscape-design-only company, focused on making professional design more accessible rather than performing installation itself. It produces 2D landscape design packages and detailed 3D renderings, and helps homeowners navigate working with contractors to budget and phase their projects over time. The emphasis is on transforming yards into functional outdoor living spaces tailored to each client's lifestyle.
Jean-Michel brings over 20 years of combined experience, including roughly a decade of hands-on building work in France followed by design roles in Colorado. His approach centers on uncovering the true potential of any outdoor area and blending beauty with functionality so each space becomes a usable sanctuary. The studio serves a wide stretch of the Front Range from its Castle Rock base.
