Transform my cabinets!

Ready to bring your out-dated cabinets or built-ins back to life with a splash of color?

01

Remove and Number Doors

A week or two before painting boxes, we come and remove the doors and drawer faces. The hinges, knobs and pulls are also removed and each door is numbered so we know what goes where later.

Step 1: Wild Fox Painting will remove and number all the kitchen cabinet doors.
02

Empty Kitchen Cabinets

We ask all clients to empty the cabinets, this protects dishes from getting dusty, or worse, something breaking. It also provides you with an opportunity to de-clutter & reorganize your cabinets.

Step 2: The client is required to empty all the kitchen cabinets.
03

Prep the Kitchen

The floors, walls, ceilings, appliances, etc. that need protecting are covered with paper and plastic. A plastic barrier is setup around your kitchen to prevent dust and paint from entering the rest of your house.

Step 3: The kitchen is prepped by protecting appliances, floors and other surfaces.
04

Degrease the Surfaces

Cabinet painting is all about the prep, the most important step is to clean the cabinets with a degreaser, this prevents grease from going deeper into the wood as we start sanding.

Step 4: The kitchen cabinet boxes and doors are all cleaned, and degreased for proper surface preparation.
05

Sanding and Cleaning

After cleaning the cabinets, we sand all surfaces to remove the existing sheen and other issues on the surface. Once sanded, we use a liquid de-glosser to clean again.

Step 5: After cleaning all cabinets and doors are sanded and cleaned again.
06

Prime the Surfaces

The final coat of paint is only as good as the bottom layers of primer, this is why we use tinted, extreme bond primers to create a solid, durable foundation for our finish coats.

Step 6: After sanding, all surfaces are primed with an extreme bonding primer for a proper foundation.
07

Patch, Caulk, Sand, Clean... again

Once primed, we carefully look for flaws, where we use glazing Bondo to perfect the surface. Once dried, we sand and clean the surfaces one more time prior to applying the finish coats.

Step 7: Once primed, we then patch small scratches and flaws, sand, clean and then caulk any seams.

Finish Coats

Now that we have finished all the initial prep and priming steps on your cabinet boxes and doors, we finally get to apply the final coats of paint to truly transform the look of your kitchen cabinets.

Step 8: After priming is complete, we then apply two coats of 2K cabinet paint called Milesi.
09

Cleaning up the Kitchen

Once the paint has dried and surfaces all look good, we can take down all the plastic, remove the paper, clean the inside of the cabinets and start putting the kitchen back together.

Step 9: When all painting is complete, we remove all the paper, plastic and clean up the entire kitchen.
10

Doors and Drawer Faces

The doors and drawer faces are generally picked up one or two weeks prior to starting the boxes and taken back to our warehouse and paint booth. This gives us a head start on prepping, patching, priming and painting the doors as they take far more time to do than the boxes. Once the doors are complete, we can put the kitchen back together.

Step 10: Wild Fox Painting picks up the cabinet doors and drawer faces a week or two early to start prepping and painting in our warehouse.
11

Re-Hang the Doors and Drawer Facess

Once the doors have been finished, we wrap them up and bring back to your house. We re-install the doors and hardware, and do one last round of touchups and cleaning.

Step 11: Once the kitchen is all done and the doors and drawer faces are completed, we then re-install the doors and do one final round of touch-ups and clean-up.
12

Wrapping Up!

Now that the boxes and doors are all completed, the kitchen is clean and everything looks great. We take a few final photos and videos for our portfolio, and we are all done!

Step 12: Your kitchen cabinets are now complete, and you have a professional and durable paint job on your kitchen cabinets.
