Initial Consultation

  • We first collect as much information about your doors as possible. Color, style, size, etc.
  • We plug that information into our custom formulas for consistent and accurate pricing.
  • An estimate is created and sent to you.
  • Once approved, we schedule a day to pick up your doors to get started.
Step 1: First submit a free interior door estimate with all your detailed information.

Preparation

  • All doors we paint in our warehouse are cleaned and sanded, even brand new doors.
  • Smooth doors have a round of patching small flaws and then sanded and cleaned.
  • Doors are then sprayed with two coats of Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel in our paintbooth.
Step 2: Once approved, Wild Fox Painting will come and pick up the doors and bring them back to our warehouse to prep and paint.

Painting Stained Doors

  • Yes, we can even prep and paint stained doors, they do however require a lot of time and effort.
  • The doors are sanded down to bare wood, starting with 40 grit sandpaper and working up to 220 grit.
  • Then they are patched, sanded, and primed again. We do our best to make the doors look like new.
Step 3: Looking to have those old stained doors refreshed by having them painted? We can help with that entire intense process.

Patched and Primed

  • Stained doors are patched and sanded again.
  • We use red glazing Bondo for patching flaws.
  • BIN Shellac is used as our primer to lock in potential tannins in the wood.
  • The doors are now smooth and ready for two sprayed topcoats creating a smooth consistent finish.
Step 4: All doors are carefully inspected, all scratches and dents are filled with Bondo and then sanded.

Wrapping Up

  • Lastly, we do one final check to make sure the doors look perfect.
  • Once the doors have cured for a day or more, they are returned to the client.
  • Our clients typically remove the doors and hardware and re-install themselves to save money. We can help with this if requested.
Step 5: Once the doors are all prepped and we have sprayed out two coats of paint, we bring the doors back and re-install the doors and hardware.
